Boundaries and Healthy Relationships

Boundaries and Healthy Relationships

Nobody teaches you this stuff in school. Nobody sits you down at seventeen and explains the difference between a relationship that builds you up and one that slowly talks you out of trusting your own instincts. Most of us figure it out the hard way, and some of us take longer than we would like to admit.

This section of the blog is about all of it. Setting limits with the people in your life and actually holding them. Recognizing when a connection is costing you more than it is giving back. Understanding that saying no is not a rejection of someone else, it is an act of respect for yourself. Learning, sometimes for the first time, that you are allowed to take up space in your own relationships.

The songs in this section get at something real about what healthy love actually looks like, and what it does not. Some of them are about finding the courage to walk away. Some are about the rare, quiet gift of being accepted exactly as you are. Some are about finally drawing a line you should have drawn years ago. All of them know something true about the way we connect with other people, and what we deserve from those connections.

Pull up a chair, hit play on the playlist, and spend some time with these songs. There is a good chance at least one of them knows exactly where you are right now. 🎸
