Self-Acceptance and Self-Worth
Here is something I wish someone had told me a long time ago. The relationship you have with yourself is the longest one of your life. Every other relationship you will ever have, with your partner, your kids, your friends, your coworkers, runs through that one first. Get that one wrong and everything downstream gets harder than it needs to be.
Most of us spend years, sometimes decades, running from the version of ourselves we are most afraid other people will see. We perform. We shrink. We edit ourselves down to whatever shape seems most acceptable in the room we happen to be standing in. We become very skilled at being who everyone else needs us to be and very out of practice at knowing who we actually are.
This section of the blog is about that work. The slow, sometimes uncomfortable, genuinely worthwhile work of learning to look at yourself honestly and decide that what you see is enough. Not perfect. Not finished. Not without flaws that need tending to. Just enough. Worthy of the space you take up. Worthy of the love you keep trying to give to everyone else.
The songs in this section know what it costs to finally stop apologizing for existing. Pull up the playlist, find a quiet ten minutes, and let some of these sink in.
You are more than the worst thing you believe about yourself. 💙
